Treating the person “as a whole”
By treating the person “as a whole” means that it is not just treating the patient’s physical symptoms. Injuries, diseases, and medical problems can have profound influence on the emotional wellbeing of the patient and his/her family. Therefore, treatment aims at providing not only relief of physical symptoms but also relief of mental stress and agony.

Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a health care profession that offers a wide range of specialized services. The aim is of physiotherapy is to make a proper diagnosis and afford customized treatment in order to prevent further damage or disease. Physiotherapists work primarily with people recovering from injuries. The goal is to get patients back in motion with exercises, massage, and other techniques, and therapy usually happens in the hospital setting.  Physical therapy often focuses on preventing further injuries, and it can help people to avoid surgery or a long-term dependence on medications.

Our physiotherapists assist their patients, ably, so that they recover quickly and become independent. This is done  by targeting the therapy on those systems of the body related to movement and muscle strength.  Physical therapists at Jhunjhunu Hospital work with the patients to evolve the best course of treatment for them. They focus on applying therapy to those parts of the body that cause limitation of the ability to move, to play sports, or to perform activities of daily living.

The inpatient and outpatient services offered by Physiotherapy are designed with a primary goal in mind:  to restore function of the concerned body parts and to achieve better quality of life on the whole.  Whether it is about managing pain, or learning to walk, or preparing to work, or adjusting to life after illness, our team of experts engages with the patient and his/her family to design a customized treatment plan tailored to suit the patient's absolute needs.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists help their patients perform day-to-day tasks, whether they're recovering from injuries, or have developmental or cognitive disabilities affecting their motor skills, emotions, or behavior.  Some occupational therapy might happen in a hospital or occupational therapist's office, but a key component occurs in a patient's home or work environment.  There's a strong emphasis on the practical aspects of helping people do the things they want and need to do, so that they can live life to the fullest.

Occupational therapists at Jhunjhunu Hospital work with the patients across their lifespans to help them return to their daily activities in a pleasant way.  Occupational therapists also help children to participate wholly in school and social events.  They assist people to recover from an injury in order that they return to work well.  They also offer support to older adults who are experiencing both physical and cognitive changes.

Occupational therapy service typically includes:

An individualized evaluation during which the patient, his/her family, and the occupational therapist come together in order to determine the person’s goals.

A customized intervention to improve a person’s ability to perform daily activities and reach his/her goals.

An outcome evaluation to ensure that the goals are being met and make changes, accordingly, to fit the plan.

Occupational therapy practitioners who have a holistic perspective of the patient’s requirement - where the focus is placed on the way the patient adapts to his/her immediate environment.  It is to be noted, however, that the patient and his/her family are an integral part of the therapy team.

Rehabilitation Services

Physiotherapy led rehabilitation or physical rehabilitation is a clinically and cost effective intervention for those patients whose life has been adversely changed by injury, illness or disease and quality of live and activities of daily living is grossly affected.

Physical rehabilitation aims to optimise patient function and well-being, and helps the patient get back to mainstream life, doing as much as possible, what he was doing prior to illness. Whether at home, work or leisure, a person wishes to be independent to perform at least his routine activities without depending on anyone. Rehabilitation thus focuses on changes to functional disability and lifestyle restrictions based on the patient’s own goals for functional improvement. In most cases, physiotherapy led rehabilitation helps a patient regain strength to resume all functions or relearn skills or finding new ways of doing things to optimize the quality of life.

Rehabilitation is used for recovery from injury or disease and also for the management of long-term conditions (e.g. Parkinsons, stroke, multiple sclerosis etc.,).

Rehabilitation should start as soon as possible to speed recovery. The programs that combine many different components are likely to be most effective.
